 Program Overview   study in america

The Lienhard School of Nursing at Pace University (Pace) offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS) degree that is designed to prepare students for careers in professional nursing. Graduates of the program are prepared as generalists in the profession, capable of assuming beginning positions in nursing in all areas of health care delivery. All nursing programs at Pace combine academic education with supervised clinical experience in hospitals and community agencies. Students are encouraged to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them as members of the University community.
Essential qualities embodied in nursing education at Pace include the liberal arts and sciences as integral foundations; nursing theory, practice and research as the core body of knowledge; communication, critical thinking and technological competence as essential skills; and moral and ethical decision making as values to provide society with professionally prepared nurses. The School provides student- centered learning experiences that foster civic and professional responsibility to embrace the challenges of the future.
Pace offers three tracks that students may follow to earn their bachelor's degree in nursing.
The traditional four-year baccalaureate program prepares graduates to assume leadership positions in every possible health care area. This is the recommended course of study for students who aspire to enter graduate school and become nurse practitioners, administrators or clinical specialists. The four-year BS degree program is offered on the Pleasantville campus only. Graduates of the program are eligible for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX/RN).
The combined degree program (BSN/MS) is designed for the college graduate with a baccalaureate degree in an area other than nursing. After 15 credits of science prerequisites are met, the BSN portion can be completed in one calendar year of full-time study. The BSN portion of the program is offered on both the New York City and Pleasantville campuses. Graduates of the program are eligible for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX/RN).
The third way to earn a bachelor's degree is through the track offered for RNs with an associate degree or a diploma in nursing. Students in this track who have previously completed the University core curriculum may complete the BS nursing portion of the program in one year. This option is offered on both the New York City and Pleasantville campuses.

 Admissions   study in america

To apply, students should complete an admission application, which is available online, and submit official transcripts, diplomas and leaving examination scores from all secondary and postsecondary institutions.
A letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor and a personal statement are strongly encouraged. Suggested personal statement topics include a discussion of a personal, local or international issue; an autobiographical account; or a representative sample of creative ability.
International students are not required to submit SAT I, ACT or TOEFL scores, but it is recommended that these scores be submitted should they be available. All accepted international students are required to take the University Placement Examination prior to registration. Students may be restricted to intensive English coursework for at least one semester, if necessary, which may extend the length of time to complete a degree.
Pace University uses a rolling admission plan and the admission counseling staff makes every effort to notify students of a decision in a timely fashion. It is best to apply early so that every consideration may be given to each application. New students may begin their studies in September or January.
