50% of full-time students at public four-year institutions, including both in-state and out-of-state students, are enrolled in institutions with published prices at or below $6,614.
Tuition and fees for public 4-year colleges in the US are most inexpensive in the South, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Tuition and fees for private 4-year colleges in the US range from $21,116 to $31,680 per year. The most inexpensive are in the Southwest, which comprises Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Tuition and fees for public 2-year colleges in the US are most inexpensive in the Western region, which includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
For all three institute types, the most expensive schools for international students are in the New England States: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
