SCHOOL DISTRICT RANGE OF PROGRAMS
The range of school district programs for international students includes:

  • Academic high school programs
  • High school bridge programs
  • Short-term experience
  • English as a Second Language
  • Adult high school


    • School Districts offer a range of programs that cover the years from kindergarten to grade 12, as well as adult high school programs for students 18 and over and English as a Second Language (ESL). International students can apply to study at one of the district schools for one year of high school, several years (to graduate from high school), short-term study (usually around 3 months) or other programs like summer school, 2- to 4-week language camps and group activity programs.

    Year-long programs run for the full academic year (from September to June). High school programs cover the full range of academic programs, including areas like fine arts, computer studies and advanced placement programs. Students take foundational and elective courses that will vary from school to school.

    High school bridge programs provide instruction in language skills and the core subjects that will best help prepare international students to transition into--and succeed in--American high schools. Some school district high school bridge programs guarantee a student's acceptance into a local public high school upon successful completion of the program.

    The International Baccalaureate program may also be available through the USA's school districts, in which high-achieving students are able to gain university course credits while attending high school.
