The leading import is vehicles while the leading export is electrical machinery. In addition, the US is an industrial power with chemical products as the leading manufacturing field, and it is the third largest producer of oil as well as its largest importer. Furthermore, it is the number one producer of electrical and nuclear energy, as well as liquid natural gas, sulfur, phosphates, and salt. Abundant natural resources, a well-developed infrastructure, and high productivity fuel the American economy.
