ALL GIRLS SCHOOLS
All-girls high schools offer an alternative to traditional co-ed public schooling. They are part of the private school system, and provide a single-sex educational environment for young women.

One of the benefits of all-girls schools is a structured, safe and encouraging environment, free from the potential pressures of a co-ed classroom. Young women are given the opportunity to build meaningful, life-long relationships with other young women, and to excel academically and personally in an environment that nurtures their strengths and needs. All-girls secondary school graduates often show higher achievement, higher self-esteem and a greater sense of accomplishment than female graduates of traditional co-ed high schools.

Some all-girls high schools in the USA are boarding schools, some are day schools, and some offer both options. These schools may also be religiously-affiliated or secular, and many require uniforms. Like all private high schools, all-girl schools are under the jurisdiction of their respective state department of Education, and offer education that meets or exceeds state standards. All-girls high schools have some of the highest academic standings in the country.

Like most internationally accessible high schools in the USA, all-girls schools often offer English as a second language (ESL) training options. Tuition for international students may range from $10,000 to $50,000, depending on whether or not the student boards with the school or with a homestay family in the local community.
